Structure & Pacing

Proper pacing can make or break a show with a live audience. It would not be a gameshow without multiple choice trivia, but too many back-to-back would bring the energy down. The solution was shortening the build up to pay-offs, knowing when to slow things down, or let the host loose on the audience.

The first segment literally has people standing on their feet cheering and stomping to see if Metalheads or Rockers are louder, followed up by an Eye of the Tiger sing-a-long for the first round of Finish the Lyrics. In "Emoji the Song" – instead of asking in trivia format "What is this song?", the host goes into the audience for the first time to engage them by asking them to guest what the emoji's mean.

Later segments have more audience interaction, eventually getting the bravest rockers to perform on stage.

Theming

It was important that the audience not only test their rocker knowledge, but as our host would say "party like a rocker". This is a photo from "Drunken Hotel Room Smash" where player screens are drunkenly stumbling across their hotel room as they try to break everything but their band equipment.

In Air Battle, two brave and bold contestants are brought up on stage to compete by performing classic hits. The entire audience votes too see who can air guitar, drum, saxophone, or cowbell the hardest. The harder they rock, the more cheers the audience gives them by tapping on their screen.

Before the show ends, there is a high-score winning team, but that doesn't make them the true winner. Only the most epic of rockstars know how to end their show and that's by smashing their guitars as the audience cheers. The top two teams come up on stage and smash (inflatable) guitars while the audience gives cheers on their screen to determine the true Rock N' Roll King or Queen of the night
